Parenting with the Heart of the FatherIt is within the family that the heart of the Father meets the heart of man. In our messy modern world parents and grandparents need to learn how to love the way that God, our Heavenly Father loves us. And this is much more than just bringing kids to mass and teaching them their prayers. In this talk, Mike and Alicia will show parents and grandparents how God fathers us, give them practical ways to imitate those characteristics, and inspire them to love their children as our Father loves us.
The Sanity of FamilyParents, teachers and anyone who works with children today are having their confidence, peace of mind, and authority undercut by a number of widespread myths that have been pushed upon them by the experts, the media and almost everybody else. Victimized by these false notions, many parents and educators are plagued by groundless worry, guilt and frustration. This presentation will foster self confidence, peace of mind, and will put authority into your hands where it belongs.
The Second SchoolWe have an obligation to provide an excellent education to our children, an education that begins at home. We need Catholic schools and universities to build carefully upon the foundation we provide at home. What are the hallmarks of an excellent Catholic education? How can you discern which Catholic schools will actually successfully reinforce and expand what you have provided your children in your home? Dr. Sanford will reflect on what an authentic Catholic education is, and why it is so important to our children and to our Church and country.

What are the spiritual roles of a family for the parents?Parents are to be the spiritual leaders in the home. As fathers and mothers who have been granted this great responsibility, we must spiritually guide the precious children entrusted to us by God so His plan for them can be fulfilled. Home is the best place for discipleship. The family is often referred to as the "domestic Church," a term that highlights its role in nurturing a spiritual atmosphere conducive to faith development. Parents are called to create a home environment filled with love, respect, and a commitment to God. Father Glenn will share the importance of parents to be united and committed to a Catholic Household. In addition Father Glenn will encourage and explain ways parents and grandparents can direct and guide our children to more God filled Life.
Erm, actually... it is all about you! (But not in the way you might think!)When our family life becomes messy: when our kids fall away from the Faith, our adult children do not get married in the Church or baptize our grandchildren, and our relationships become complicated by conflicting moral and religious beliefs, we are tempted to forget that our marriage and family life, even when (and perhaps especially when) it does not turn out as we expected, is the means through which we "work out" our salvation and sanctification. This talk offers advice for how we can turn our focus away from what is wrong with our kids or from what we think we did wrong in raising them, to how our family life, here and now as God has willed it, is the means by which we grow in holiness and become saints!
An engaging discussion among the speakers with opportunity for live Q&A on your top marriage and family life questions!
